[20th October, 2015 – Bhubaneswar ready to celebrate Dussehra 2015.]
A festive mood enveloped Bhubaneswar this week with the five-day long Durga Puja celebrations getting underway. There are more than ten big puja arrangements in the city, which include Saheed Nagar, Nayapalli, Rasulgarh, Jharpada, Baramunda, Bomikhal, Old Station Bazar and Unit 2 Market. Apart from the big ones, almost every locality in the city has arranged its own community puja of Maa Durga.
Every day, a large number of people gather at different puja venues to pray Maa Durga and take her blessings. Major mandaps depicting world-famous heritage sites along with illuminated trees and temporary structures on both side of the main roads adds to the celebration mood. Almost every puja committee has arranged different cultural events, bhajan sandhyas, melody dance programs, children play activities like merry go round to attract the crowd. City people keep hopping from one pandal to other throughout the evening see the puja decorations.
Ravan Podi (Ravan Dahan) Fireworks display and combined Murti Visharjan (Idol Immersion) going to be the last two concluding celebration before the end of the puja week for this year.

[23nd October, 2015 – Bhubaneswar celebrated Ravan Podi (Ravan Dahan)]
Bhubaneswar celebrated Ravan Podi (Ravan Dahan) on 23rd October 2015, a day after Vijaya Dashami. Ravan Podi is usually celebrated burning large effigies of Demon King Ravan which symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
This year Ravan Podi is attended by thousands of visitors at different venues to witness attractive light and firecracker show arranged by the puja committees. As per reports, there are more than 30 Ravan Podi arrangements in the city including those in large pandals like Shahid Nagar, Jharpada, Nayapalli and Baramunda.
